Wiltshire man to take on the Alps, Pyrenees and Cevennes/Ardeche
300 Cols in 30 days
In July this year Phil Deeker, a pyrotechnician from Salisbury, Wilts is taking on three cycling routes established by the Club Des Cent Cols across the Alps, Pyrenees and Cevennes/Ardeche in order to raise money for the charity M.A.G.
The itinerary involves climbing 300 Cols in 30 days total, covering more than 4,000 kms and with just over 71,000 metres of ascent. It will be an extremely challenging ride and an unforgettable way to celebrate his 50th birthday this year.
He will be accompanied by his wife in the back-up car and has now found a co-rider for the whole trip: a 28-year-old from Romania, who will leave home two weeks before the departure date of 1st of July – on two wheels.
They will be riding to a fixed itinerary so that if anyone else wants to ride with them for a day or two then they can plan where to meet up with them. If you know of any likely sponsors, please check out MAG Special Events on the web or email Philip@painsfireworks.com Phil for more details.
