The weekend of Saturday and Sunday May 17 and 18 sees the annual event that bills itself as ‘The World’s Premier Electric Bike Rally’ taking place in the mid-Wales town of
The rally has been running since 1996 and is expanding this year to include displays of non-electric cycles, including tandems, recumbents and trikes, electric scooters, motorcycles and electric cars and vans alongside low emissions petrol and diesel cars.
It will include the chance to see, close up, numerous bikes reviewed by Cycling Plus in the past such as Ezee and IZIP.
The main festival site will make use of a large geodesic dome to provide plenty of covered space for exhibitors and this will be situated on a quiet cul-de-sac that has plenty of hard-standing on which the public can try out bikes.
As well as the displays, running over Saturday and Sunday, , events will include:
- Saturday – hill climb, green question time and country ride
- Sunday – the Tour de Presteigne electric bike rally, .
The Tour de Presteigne is the centerpiece of the show and is a one hour endurance test for all electric bikes. For more info on the Tour and to register in advance visit the Tour de Presteigne website.
