Grip specialists ODI’s new all-mountain bar is a fairly standard 704mm wide, heat-treated 7000 series aluminium pipe. As is usually the case, the stem clamp area is straight but the bar tapers at the riser sections.
Outer sections come back in a relatively flat nine-degree backsweep, keeping grip height low for a nominal inch-rise bar and suited to riders who don’t want their cockpit too high. Etched tilt marks help set your bar roll.
The base bar comes in two widths – 700 and 750mm – and threaded tips mean you can screw in 12.5mm or 18mm Wingtip extenders (£12 a pair) to create your ideal width. The result is similar to cutting down a wider bar, but with added weight and cost.
If you want to future-proof your bar for different bikes and riding styles then it works. If you never do (or don’t plan to), then there are better options for the money.
