With a concave design, sealed cartridge bearing s and a build that can take knocks all day long, the A-frame is a deservedly popular pedal.
It hasn’t changed much from last year, except it now comes with new pins. These are bolts with ‘cleated’ tops to tear your legs up, as opposed to the grub screws of the previous model. Although the screws were slightly grippier, they were hard to remove once smacked on a few rocks.
The Pookie is a gnarlier version of the A-frame, with a slightly smaller body and more of a concave shape, and the same gnarly bolts. Again, sealed bearings take pride of place here, but a grease port is also hidden under one of the pins, so this pedal will last longer than ever. Two great pairs of pedals: one for people with bigger feet, and the other for British winters.
