Fabric Stratosphere Sport review£32.00

Great value track pump

BikeRadar score4/5

Fabric’s Stratosphere pump has a 26cm wide, heavy-duty nylon base with large inset abrasive panels for good sole grip, and a large pressure gauge that nestles in front of the 34mm diameter steel body.

The one-piece handle is made from reinforced polymer, and the pump stands 672mm from the ground and weighs 1.29kg.

The polymer handle is 24cm wide. Its 32mm diameter and textured surface give excellent grip and space for large hands. Those broad, grippy foot rests keep everything stable with no chance of slippage, and the 75mm diameter pressure gauge is very clear to read in psi, with rather smaller bar markings.

The pump head automatically adjusts to fit Presta and Schrader valves. It easily slots on to valves without needing to wrangle it into place, and some air escapes until the flex-free alloy locking lever is flipped open to secure it.

Getting it to where it’s needed is a long 129cm rubber hose that easily reaches both wheels from one spot, or bikes on a workstand, and keeps the handle retracted for transport by wrapping over it.

The Stratosphere Sport has a maximum inflation pressure of 140psi/9.5bar, and I inflated my 28mm tyre from flat to 100psi in just under 20 strokes.

There is some wobbling from the plunger when fully extended, but the pumping action is positive with no flex from the handle, and one-handed operation is easy too.
