Why new Ultegra is a big deal, plus getting hands-on with Shimano’s Dura-Ace Power Meter

This video was produced in collaboration with Shimano

If one thing’s for sure, you’ll be seeing a lot of Shimano’s Ultegra R8000 groupset in 2018. We caught up with the brand at its stand during Eurobike 2017 to find out — in its own words — exactly why it’s such a big deal.

In this video, Erik van Kooten, Brand Manager Road at Shimano, talks us through everything from the Ultegra’s distinctive disc-rotors to the different shift modes available from its electronic variant.

We then get hands-on with the optional crank-based power meter that Shimano announced with the latest version of its top-tier Dura-Ace group.
