The tan wall Schwalbe Pro One — a forbidden fruit (for now)

Limited release skinwall version of the tubeless road favourite

We recently stumbled upon a tan wall version of Schwalbe’s much loved Pro One tubeless road tyre that, completely unbeknownst to us, is a limited edition version that was only released and sold in conjunction with the Tour Down Under in Australia.

We found the tyre at a bike shop we visited while out at the Tour Down Under (that will remain anonymous for now) and, assuming it was a stock item, took a quick snap of the tyre as a reminder to find out more on our return to base in the UK.

Doing our due diligence, we got in touch with Schwalbe UK who informed us that the tyre was indeed a limited edition run and gave no indication as to whether it will return as a stock option.

As a big fan of tan wall tyres, BikeRadar as a whole finds this to be deeply disappointing news — the Pro One is one of our all-time favourite tyres and if it was available widely in that oh-so-handsome (or cheesy, depending on your standpoint) skinwall finish, we reckon Schwalbe would sell these by the truckload.

Maybe Schwalbe will listen to the (hopefully) large chorus of protestation from all of you in the comments urging them to bring these into full production.

What are your favourite tan wall tyres? Or are you not a fan at all? Leave your thoughts in the comments!
