Elemnt Bolt vs Garmin Edge 520

The Elemnt Bolt is similar in form and function to Garmin's Edge 520. Both have customizable data fields for all the standard metrics of time, distance, elevation, speed, power, heart rate, etc. Both will pair with your ANT+ peripherals and your smartphone.

Both provide incoming text/call notification, Strava Live Segments and navigation too.

Neither has a touchscreen, which isn't a bad thing.

Using color and a deep history in GPS, Garmin's navigation is richer. But unlike the 520, the Bolt comes with maps for most of the world, and many find the simplified maps easy to follow. The Bolt has better life when using navigation than the 520.

When the Bolt was released, it was substantially cheaper than the 520. Recently, though, Garmin dropped the 520 price to £239 / $199 / AU$399 from £279 / $299 / AU$449, putting it basically in line with the Bolt.
