The chocolate flavour in this bar isn’t quite as real as you expect from the packaging and that seemed to let people down. However, it still had some big fans and it’s a well-packaged bar that does work in all climatic conditions. As with the performance bar, there is vitamin and mineral supplementation, but only to about half the level in this one.
This is a very popular bar, with a good caramel flavour and a thin chocolate coating. The packaging is tough enough for abuse but beware of keeping them in a hot car – that chocolate will melt and separate. Having said that, the High Five range does have other non-coated offerings, so if you are a fan then you just need to pick the product to suit your ride.
Another tasty bar from High Five which got a lot of chocolate lovers voting for it in this test. It's like a turbo-charged version of your sweet shop favourite, packed with milk protein and a full 20% milk chocolate. Needless to say, it doesn’t do too well in hot weather, and it does have four times as much fat in it as the GO bar. But then it is aimed at recovery, not on-the-go nutrition.
