Rapha Rainproof Essentials Case
The Essentials case from Rapha is one of the handiest little items we own, able to take a phone, keys and money or repair essentials, neatly stowed in a back pocket. However, it wasn’t waterproof so not that useful on wet weather rides — until now.
Rapha has just released a new version of the case in a waterproof and reflective material with an Aquaguard water repellent zip. There’s also a large version for bigger mobile phones.

Produced in collaboration with Spanish cycle kit company Exteondo, these feature a striking galaxy print and have lots of reflective details incorporated. In addition to the usual reflective logos and tabs, there are speckles of reflective material in the star print itself.

Alex Monroe Handmade Bianchi Bicycle Necklace
This beautiful handmade necklace was crafted by jeweller Alex Monro and is based around his beloved Bianchi road bike — and it would make a special gift for any passionate road rider.
While there are plenty of other bike necklaces on the market, few are hand crafted from sterling silver, or silver with gold or rose gold plating. If you really want to splurge, Monroe can also make it from 18ct gold (yellow, rose or white) or platinum.
We love the attention to detail, such as the wheels that actually turn!

OrNot Grey Ties handlebar bag
Sometimes there’s just not quite enough room in jersey pockets, like on long rides when extra spares, layers or snacks may be needed. Or even just to carry some extra cake home from a particularly good cafe stop. That's certainly happened to us a few times.
In those cases, a good handlebar bag is worth its weight in gold.
We’re rather taken by this one from US brand OrNot, made in collaboration with Rickshaw Bagworks. Constructed from heavy-duty nylon in a bright blue colour, Velcro straps keep it in place and it has about 4 litres of volume with two accessory pockets.
- $90. Some international shipping available.
Wahoo Kickr Climb Indoor Grade Simulator
While it’s no replacement for the thrill of riding indoors, there are still plenty of brilliant reasons to get on the indoor training bandwagon.
It’s not just good for those days when the weather is too miserable to go out, a structured training programme can help boost fitness or to train for an event in the most efficient way possible. Not to mention the convenience of having it at home. Minimal effort required!
New developments such as this super-cool Kickr Climb simulator give as accurate a riding experience as possible, including riding up inclines, and this add-on actually elevates the front of the bike.
Paired with a smart trainer and training programme such as Zwift, and the result is indoor training that's actually fun (Shock! Horror!), riding in a virtual environment indoors while the wind and rain rage outside.

It’s a map, it’s wall-art, it’s a record of sporting prowess, it’s a goal planner, and it’s a great conversation starter.
This rather fine-looking cartographic product lists many of the most famous road climbs in the Alps. Once a Col has been conquered, just scratch it off the map, or rather scratch to highlight the achievement.
There’s also a version that covers UK climbs for British riders, and peaks in the Rockies for those based in the US.
