One of the UK’s leading cycle to work organisations has teamed up with multiple gold medal winning Paralympian, Dame Sarah Storey, to encourage more people to pedal to work.

CycleScheme, which enables people to buy a tax-free bike for work through their employer and and pay off the balance monthly via salary sacrifice, has teamed up with Storey, who won four cycling golds at London 2012 and two in Beijing to spearhead the organisation’s Challenge Yourself campaign, which was launched yesterday.

Dame Sarah said: “If we start by encouraging people to cycle to work, then they'll feel healthier, will save money and be more inclined to ride their bikes for other journeys and leisure time too.”

The number of people cycling to work has grown by fifth in the last decade according to CycleScheme and the organisation has helped more than 350,000 people set themselves up to cycle to work.

Following the Olympics last year, the organisation reported a sharp uptake in the number of people buying bikes to get to work.
