The ETC is constructed of 30mm diameter, silver painted tubing rather than the 25mm black coated finish of its nearest rival. The instructions are similarly random, but the overall look and feel are of a higher quality product here. When fitted, the heavier ETC is incredibly rigid, and quite capable of supporting its 45kg maximum load with ease.
Some fairly fiddly rubber securing straps hold bikes in place firmly, though they proved tough to release. The rack folds flat quickly for storage, but some scuffs and chips already picked up in transit hint at more damage to come.
