The 20-litre Cross Air EXP, in Deuter’s mind at least, is a pack for crossover bike and hike outings. It’s ripe for long back country adventures where you’ll need something more substantial than a minimalist pack and with versatility that a pure bike pack might not provide, such as a wet clothing storage area. In this respect the Cross Air EXP is very good.
Riders are still well catered for with a loading system that places the weight low down on the hips, if a bit further off the back than some of the less structured packs. Features include a zipped 4-litre expansion zone, helmet holder, light loops, rain cover and well thought out internal organisers for your important bits. Add an optional Sourcemade Deuter bladder (though any hydration bladder will work) and the Cross Air EXP says, ‘I’m ready for action’.
