CarraDry is Carradice's new welded-seam, waterproof luggage range. It's all very Ortlieb.The Glentress is the SQR seatpack in the range - front and rear panniers and a bar bag are also available.
As its name suggests, the Glentress makes a nod to off-road use. Because its 5-litre capacity is fairly long, the bag helps keep your bum dry. It also means you tend to sit on the bag if you hang right off the back of the saddle, so it's better for expedition touring than mountain biking per se. It would also be ideal for day rides on your road bike - 5L is plenty, and the SQR attachment is rock solid and doesn't sway like some big seatpacks. For audax or light touring, the more compartmentalised Barley saddlebag would be better.There is also an internal pocket in the Glentress.The roll-top fastening and side compression strap allow a good range of loads. It's a pity there's no LED tab, you'll also need 60mm of exposed seatpost to fit it.
