"A sturdy, portable and well-designed stick, if a little clumsy on the eye"

Thu 18 Mar 2010, 2:00 pm GMTBy

There are a host of sticks on the market that can help reduce your massage bills, and this model from US manufacturers The Stick is one of biggest sellers.

Endorsed on US TV by professional American footballers from the NFL, you can use it almost anywhere on the body.

The 15 rotating spindles on this 24in model access most major muscle groups and we found the ergonomic, semi-rigid design easy to use.

Its portability is also a major asset – if you’re travelling somewhere new for a race and aren’t guaranteed to find a masseur it’s a valuable piece of equipment to pack.

It doesn’t come near to a real massage, but could be useful if you have a specific injury you need to treat every day.

  • I was about to make a smutty comment about vibrating sticks, but then I noticed:

"Endorsed on US TV by professional American footballers from the NFL""

top 10 tacky celebrity endorsement or what! where's my cheque book!

  • This is an excellent product & has recently received favourable write up by ultra distance cyclist Jim Rees (see http://www.the-stick.co.uk)

  • Saw these on the winter olympics being used by the pro skiers, if they are good enough for them its good enough for me.

Had one for a few months now well worth the money my legs feel so much better during and after every race now.

A definate thumbs up for this product. 10/10

Got mine from a shop called Southfork in Devon (01271 817247)
