Altura Attack jacket £149.99

Careful detailing

BikeRadar score3/5

The Altura Attack jacket has a smooth, substantial handle – it’s quite firm, but once on the bike it’s not so noticeable. The construction has a quality feel and there’s a lot of detail that’s born of riding experience, such as water resistant zips with the longest pullers ever. You won’t have a problem grabbing these in mittens.

Instead of harsh Velcro (that you'll only remember you left undone when it comes out of the wash attached to your most expensive jersey) there’s a magnetic closure on the front and no-snag tabs on the cuffs. Fit is generous; long enough both in the back and the sleeves for taller riders and there’s plenty of room in the shoulders for both layering and movement.

It's quite warm, but the Attack is that sort of jacket. It’s designed to make you feel protected in the most exposed weather, or dry on the most sodden commute and it does that with knobs on. By making use of the pit zips we found we were able to control any heat build up successfully and it’s an acceptable trade-off when you need a little more heft from your jacket.
