Endura Women's Phoenix Jacket £70

The women's Phoenix has similar features to the men's jacket, but in a scaled-down fit. Most noticeable is the high quality look of the construction and hard-wearing feel to the fabric.

BikeRadar score 4/5

The women's Phoenix has similar features to the men's jacket, but in a scaled-down fi t. Most noticeable is the high quality look of the construction and hard-wearing feel to the fabric. Seams are fully taped to prevent leaks, and the non-waterproof zips at the front and hand pockets have storm flaps.

The rear pocket gets a waterproof zip and some reflective piping. More reflective piping elsewhere lights up the jacket from any angle and there's a light loop at the back, too. Pit zips are a welcome addition, especially as the Phoenix has a heavier feel to it and is slightly less breathable than pricier jackets. Drawcords at the neck and hem keep out draughts, but they take two hands to adjust. The overall cut is good for riding with a longer tail and sleeves, and there's also Velcro closures at the cuffs.

The jacket is not a fitted style - there's room for layers underneath and it suits commuting or use in other outdoor activities as well. The pack size is definitely bigger than Paclite jackets and it's not as waterproof, but the Phoenix is a great choice for the money.
