Great looking and great performing

This herringbone woven riding jacket from Charge Bikes’ clothing imprint Surface is designed with the urban rider in mind.

Charge claim the jacket has all the performance benefits you’d expect of technical clothing but with a stylish touch. That touch is pretty much spot on, with some of our non-riding friends even saying, “Nice coat, where did you get it?”

Performance-wise, the jacket hits all the right notes. The arms and back are cut longer than a normal jacket, with stretchy cuffs and a drawstring waist keeping everything in check. A high neck and zip storm flap are nice touches, as are the reversed zips (down to do up) and chest pocket.

The material, ‘Aquaphobic wool’, is actually a woven nylon; it’s reasonably breathable and water resistant rather than waterproof, though for short, urban rides that’s not such a problem. It’s available in XS-XXL.
