Rapha Winter Jersey review

Rapha has a reputation for making some truly excellent kit (maybe not including the somewhat camp 'manbag'), so this jersey has a lot to live up to.

Fantasic detail and good fit: an excellent jersey

Rapha has a reputation for making some truly excellent kit (maybe not including the somewhat camp 'manbag'), so this jersey has a lot to live up to.

Contrary to what a lot of people expect from Rapha though, this is not a pure wool jersey. Sensibly, it is a mix of polyester and wool with a little elastane thrown in for good measure.

In terms of detail this is a fantastic jersey. There are three rear pockets, one of them zipped and lined with the same material that their jacket is made from (making it waterproof). The fit is good too, with nice long sleeves and a rounded drop tail at the rear.

Out on the bike in the recent driving winds, the jersey managed to find that fine balance between being either too much like a jacket or too much like a traditional thinner jersey, and the long venting zips located towards either side of the chest open up to allow a reasonable amount of extra cooling should you get too hot.
