Lots of sizes and ventilation, but best suited to easy spinning

A wide range of sizes, in both standard and wide fittings, mean the Vibram soled MX101s should fit even hard-to-please feet.

Large mesh panels in the upper give masses of ventilation, which means cold feet for most of the year. They also reduce the support on offer, allowing the foot to squirm when pedalling uphill.

A moderately flexible sole enables you to walk but it becomes noticeable even when spinning, though hot spots under the cleat aren’t an issue. Unlike the uppers, the styling is anything but cool, so pack some spares unless you don’t have a dress code.
