The top strap on the Mavic Giova is an extension of the main upper and fits the contours on the top of the foot securely and comfortably. The two-density insole offers plenty of cushioning for the whole foot.

The sole doesn’t get the men’s carbon reinforcement but this matters less in smaller shoes – they’re plenty stiff. Reflective detailing on the front and back is a nice extra touch. Some of our testers didn’t get on with the raised profile on the outer side of the last – as with any shoes, try before you buy.
