Suplest Off-Road vibram shoes review
BikeRadar verdict
"A durable and versatile shoe that’s at the pricier end of the market"
The Vibram sole on the Suplest Off-Road gives it an instant ‘adventure shoe’ feel. Together with the lace-up styling, it’s footwear that can as easily be chucked on to go to the pub as to the trail.
The ergonomic insole gives a good feeling of support, which is only enhanced by the well-padded ankle. It makes for good all-round outdoor footwear that will give you a firmer pedalling platform than an ordinary trainer when on the bike, but enough grip and better comfort than a normal bike shoe when walking.
If you choose to run on clipless pedals rather than flat ones, expect to feel some movement – especially on sharp climbs. However, it’s marginal, and if it’s aggressive climbing power you want, you won’t be looking for a style like this anyway. What’s more, the benefits of versatility and all-round comfort will more than make up for slips.
The overall construction and Vibram sole feel extremely durable, and the shoe stands up well to some of the muckiest test rides without a bleat.
