Royal Racing’s 2010 line is intriguing. Prices have come down, but everything we have seen so far is equivalent to or better than previous years in terms of quality. The SP247 shortsare no exception.
They’re described as technical freeride and all-mountain shorts, but we think they are just damn good, hard-wearing riding shorts for all occasions.
The cut is spot on. A stretch panel extends all the way round the rear and down the sides of the thighs, allowing ample movement. A mesh liner keeps things cool and comfortable, but you’ll need some padded under-shorts for proper comfort.
The ratcheted waist buckle is easy to use.The 360 degree rubber gripper round the waistband is excellent, and it really keeps the shorts in place.
