Our review
High- performance, lightweight bibs that come at a competitive price and are warm enough for autumn

Fieldsensor fabric used to be the preserve of high-end garments, but it’s trickled down to mid-range clothing. It’s a high-wicking and very stretchy blend of nylon, polyester and elastane, and is used to good effect here by Endura.

Only the bottom half of these bib knickers is made from the material, with an airy, light mesh taking care of business up top. The FS260s feature some neat constructional touches, with panels of thin, stretchy fabric extending down the legs to help with fit. There are no seams inside the legs, adding comfort, and Endura’s chamois pad is decent too. There’s even a little pocket at the back.

Clearly, lightweight tights are never going to be as warm as the more highly insulated Roubaix ones, but that’s not really an issue for much of autumn. Legs stay warmer than upper bodies thanks to the constant muscle activity. And you’ve always got the option of adding baggy shorts or three-quarters on top to keep the wind out, assuming you haven’t already on aesthetic grounds.
