The natural bamboo fibres combine with a flattering cut to create a versatile base layer

Bamboo is a fibre that's been gaining ground over the past few years thanks to its combination of natural origin and ability to absorb moisture without getting smelly. And because the anti-bacterial qualities are natural they don’t diminish with washing.

In the case of the Bamboo Tec top, the use of a more expensive fabric has pushed the price above more budget levels, but combined with an easy cut it does make this wearable both as a jersey and a base layer. So much so, we’d don this for cool summer tea time rides, casual outings and even (whisper it) running as well as a cold weather base for cycling.

The construction quality is excellent with flatlocked comfortable seams that sit easily beneath pack straps. The contrast panel design is very easy on the eye – and adds to its appeal if worn alone. It also stops the ‘comfort’ lines from spilling over into the baggily shapeless. We like the versatility of the Bamboo Tec a lot. The only thing we’d question is the billed ‘unisex’ fit – it’s less flattering for women than it is for blokes.
