When we heard motocross legends Renthal were bringing out a new range of mountain bike components we were excited but slightly nervous – would they live up to expectations?

First impressions at this year's Core Bike show were promising, and the SR4 chainring we reviewed last month was every bit as good as we’d hoped.

The latest product to land on our desks is this sparkly gold downhill bar, named after the classic motorbike Fatbar. It'll certainly get you noticed out on the trails, and its 7050 T6 alloy construction should be plenty strong enough.

The angles add up, with five degrees of upsweep and nine degrees of backsweep, but the Fatbar eschews the current trend for super-wide, low-rise bars with a 38mm rise and 712mm width. Claimed weight is 345g.

With its slightly old-school dimensions, it'll be interesting to see how the Fatbar performs. Look out for a review on BikeRadar later this year.
