Our review
Light and stiff yet comfortable – another impressive Fatbar

The Renthal Fatbar, with its distinctive gold finish, is one of the most sought-after bars on the scene, in part because of the four different rises available and its dependable strength.

Four rises are available on this new carbon version too – 10, 20, 30 and 40mm – with the same 780mm width, seven-degrees of backsweep and five degrees of upsweep as the alloy bar. Some riders may find a nine-degree backsweep more comfortable, but we love the aggressive feel of the seven-degree bar. We weighed our 30mm rise Fatbar Carbon at 227g – some 120g lighter than the alloy version.

The handlebar is a great area to save weight on the bike, and the carbon actually improves ride feel too. In general use the bar feels as stiff as the alloy version, but on rough tracks the flex Renthal has built in makes for a comfier ride – buzz is dramatically reduced.
