Custom builders Cyfac to make frames for new mountain bike company

New French mountain bike brand Caminade have contracted custom manufacturers Cyfac to handbuild their frames, which will go on sale for the first time this May.
Caminade’s first two steel frames are the full suspension, 26in-wheel One4All and a 29er hardtail called the Simple Track. French company Berieau, who created component brand Aivee, will machine and anodise moving parts.
The striking looking frames have exquisite hand-polished welds and will be available in six standard colour schemes, with custom Cyfac options also available.
They’re mainly made from Reynolds 853 DZB triple-butted tubing, although the Simple Track also incorporates Columbus’ 29er-specific tubing in the wishbone and chainstays. The One4All features a proprietary suspension system and has a 110mm Reynolds head tube.
The Simple Track is designed for a 120mm fork, although it can be configured with a 100mm model for XC use, or 140mm of travel for enduro riding. The bikes’ geometries are still to be released.
Both framesets are priced at €2,190 (approx £1,860), with the One4All pre-fitted with a SR Suntour Durolux rear shock. They will be available from May 2013. Caminade will offer lifetime guarantees on all models, with the contract valid from owner to owner.

Caminade are based in south-west France and were set up by Brice Epailly and Sylvain Renouf in 2012, whose first venture together was organising mountain bike races in France. They have set up the new brand with backing from the Languedoc-Roussillon regional government and funds from a local business development.
