The Cycle Show will move from London’s Earls Court to the NEC arena in Birmingham next year to allow for “significant expansion”, according to organisers.

Up to 35,000 people are expected to visit the show, which celebrates its 10-year anniversary in 2011 and will take place from 29 September to 2 October.
Event director Andrew Brabazon said: “With huge support from the world’s best brands and our features dramatically upscaled, we’re really excited to be delivering a show the like of which has never been seen in the UK.”
Plugging the gap for a show in the capital will be the London Bike Show, announced earlier this year, which will take place from 13-16 January.
Visitors to the new expo, which makes up part of the Outdoors Show, will be able to test ride and buy bikes from some of the world’s biggest brands including Commencal, Cervelo and Saracen. Clothing and accessories will be available to purchase too.

So, and I'm only guessing, it won't be called the "London Cycle Show" any more then?

Great news, went to the show this year and really enjoyed it but Birmingham's a lot closer.

Birmingham is a nice place, plus its mega easy to get to, easier than anywhere in london, Middle of the country, airport, train station (non blocked) motorway right to the door.
I dont know what more you could ask for, all you moaners.

Let's just hope the move to the 'dark side' is worth it.
London was no more than a glorified window shopping experience. Certainly not worth the ticket price, which gladly I didn't have to pay.

UK should have one of the best shows in the world but it doesnt because the English mentality is to rip everything apart instead of supporting things and being positive

Typical London-centric buffoons, take a step out of the tunnel vision and realise the centre of the country is the midlands. Now if only Bike Radar followed suit with it's Live Event...

About time it moved from London. It always bothers me that shows that should have a national appeal always end up being held in London. I know its the capital but for the majority of the people in the UK it is a complete ball ache to get to.
The NEC will have much greater potential for things like test tracks and demonstrations given all the space it has compared to Earls Court. Lets hope the organisers can now fill the space with the exhibitors.

I didn't go this year as last year was such a spectacular dissapointment.
First up, the venue, Earl's Court really should be redeveloped, it's an absolute dump. I'm not an ecovegecarrotcruncher and wanted a decent greasy burger and chips for lunch (yep, for three quid).
Now, the show - I WANTED TO BUY STUFF - where were all the big outlets Wiggle, Evans, Halfords, the big (and small) manufacturers, stalls, stands and people flogging their wares at show discounted prices.
Nowhere.
Lose the salad eater show organisers and get someone in who knows how to do it. You're expecting 35,000 visitors - jeez, you should be aiming for 10 times that, then the big guns might show up.

Used a days leave and spent around £100 for the day for two of us to get to london, what a waste of time and money. There is just as much interest at our local evans(Gatwick).
I went 2 years ago and it was pretty poor, they are really going to have to up their game if they plan to fill the NEC next year.
Why are we so SH*T at this in the UK.
I will not be bothering.
