Schwalbe has a new cross-country racing tire for dry conditions called the Thunder Burt. The tire comes in 26, 27.5 and 29in sizes for €55.

Featuring a fast-rolling center with higher side knobs for cornering traction, the Thunder Burt slots into Schwalbe's cross-country line between the 300g Furious Fred 300g and the 500g Racing Ralph.

"However, Thunder Burt's rolling resistance is even lower than Furious Fred's," said Carsten Zahn, Schwalbe's marketing manager. "We recommend this one for fast, dry cross-country race routes or as a rear-wheel option."

The Thunder Burt is a Tubeless Ready tire, which means it can be used as a clincher or as a tubeless tire with sealant. There are also 26 and 29in models with an extra puncture-protection layer.

The Furious Fred will be available in September.
