Iron Horse have released the details on their 2009 downhill bikes, the Sunday Elite and the Sunday World Cup. The '09 bikes, available early November 2008, will be the last to use the dw-link, since Dave Weagle decided not to re-license the design to Iron Horse last July.
Iron Horse’s UK brand manager Martin Astley is excited about the new range, and from what we’ve seen so far, we’re pretty hot under the collar too. And before you ask, there's no connection between the Iron Horse Sunday range and Sabbath Bicycles, aka the company formerly known as Sunday Bicycles.
Sunday World Cup
The Sunday World Cup is the flagship model in the Sunday range, decked out with top-flight components and rainbow stripe graphics. It uses the same 8” travel dw-link frame, with RockShox Vivid 5.1 rear shock, RockShox Boxxer World Cup forks, E-thirteen LG1 chain guard with Taco, Gravity Light crankset, SRAM X.0 gearing, and DT Swiss wheels. It retails for £4599.
Sunday Elite
The Sunday Elite freeride bike has been overhauled for 2009 with a marginally steeper head angle and larger ratio rear cassette for slower, more technical riding. Spec highlights include RockShox Vivid 4.1 rear shock, Rockshox Totem Solo Air forks, new Shimano Saint cranks, shifter and rear mech, Shimano SLX brakes. It's priced at £2999.
Sunday Team
The Sunday Team is a less wallet-pounding version of the Sunday World Cup, but uses the same race frame as its expensive brother. You get a Fox DHX 3 rear shock, Rockshox Boxxer Race forks, E-thirteen LG1 with Taco, SRAM X7 shifting for £2599.
