The third Champions of CycleSport Dinner, held at the Hurlingham Club in London last Thursday, raised £180,000 for the Action Medical Research charity.

The money was raised through live and silent auctions of cycling equipment, memorabilia and money can't buy experiences. The biggest ticket item was a Team Sky Pinarello road bike, which was snapped up for £13,000. This was well above the asking price but with the cash going to help sick babies and children, it wasn't an issue.

650 guests attended the event, which was sponsored by Wiggle, including Chris Boardman MBE and Dave Brailsford CBE, Rochelle Gilmore, Joanna Rowsell, Jonathan Tiernan-Locke, Jody Cundy and Rob Hayles. Sky TV's Dermot Murnaghan was on hand to conduct interviews with the stars while the guests enjoyed their meals.
