Turn your indoor training into a bike for someone in need

Zwift and Team Dimension Data partner for bike charity

Zwift online training is partnering with pro race squad Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka to send bikes to rural communities in South Africa. Qhubeka is part of World Bicycle Relief, which has delivered more than 275,000 sturdy 'Buffalo Bikes' to people in need around the world.

Riders who use the online training tool Zwift can buy a Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka training kit for $25 or a Qhubeka-branded Cervelo S5 bike for $183. Selecting either option will give your online avatar a new riding kit or a new bike. Why $183? That is the exact amount to send one Qhubeka Buffalo Bike to a rural community in Africa. The goal is to send 5,000 bikes.

Zwift and Qhubeka's goal is to donate 5,000 of these Buffalo bikes to people in need:

"Unlocking a bike in Zwift to donate a bike for someone in Africa is a super cool idea!” said Doug Ryder, Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka’s team principal. “On a year-round basis we will use the Zwift platform to engage with cyclists around the world, to educate about Qhubeka’s work and to inspire charitable fundraising."
