Entries are now open for Wiggle's French Resistance Sportive, a brand new event in the Wiggle Super Series, taking place on 15 September 2013.

It's a way off but the "day trip to France" format proved popular for the Wiggle French Revolution sportive, which sold out in 10 days.

The French Resistance sportive starts at Dover ferry port, where you'll take the Dover-Calais ferry including a coffee/croissant en route. The ride starts from Calais with a choice of two routes - the Epic 72 miles or Standard 62 miles - each exploring the coast and national park south of the city. They're hilly but not mountainous, and you'll be able to see World War II forts and bomb craters on the cliff tops. You will finish back in Calais and board the ferry back to Dover, with showers and hot food available on board.

The field is limited to 700 riders so you'll likely have to act fast to secure a spot. Price is £59 and includes parking at Dover and the cost of the ferry. For more information visit: www.ukcyclingevents.co.uk/events/wiggle-french-resistance-sportive.
