Not a month goes by without a new addition to the world of premium bike computers, and the latest release by Magene is one that’s worth your attention.
The Chinese brand has been around since 2015, and has built a reputation for creating boundary-pushing technology across indoor and outdoor cycling, without the high-end cost of Western rivals.
Its newest head unit – the C606 Pro Smart GPS Bike Computer – takes things a step further, though, carving out its own space in the market and bringing pro cycling-level tech to a wider audience.
The C606 Pro ticks all the boxes when it comes to GPS essentials:
- A crisp, 2.8-inch colour touchscreen featuring transflective technology, designed to stay crystal clear in the sun
- Up to 25 hours of battery life
- Wide-ranging device compatibility with most ANT+ or Bluetooth-supported accessories
But the Chinese challenger brand’s latest release has also got some tricks up its sleeve that make it stand out in a stacked field – not bad when you factor in its £209 / $199 / €209 price tag.
From seamless offline navigation capabilities to WorldTour credentials, the Magene C606 Pro’s pioneering features make it one of the most exciting bike computer launches in years.
Offline navigation for heading off-piste

The whole point of a GPS is to stop you getting lost – but hit an unplanned diversion or signal blackspot and some models will struggle to get you back on track.
The C606 Pro doesn’t have these issues thanks to its offline route re-planning feature, which can steer you in the right direction without needing to sync to a smartphone or app – providing peace of mind if exploring in remote areas.
In practice, this feature makes it possible to get back to your start point with a single tap of the screen, taking the strain out of a potentially stressful situation, while it also opens up possibilities when it comes to route planning – creating rides from custom routes, GPX, ride history and frequently visited locations.
Pro-level performance

The navigation function is only half the story when it comes to a head unit, and its performance-tracking capabilities are just as critical – particularly if following a structured workout or looking to pore over your training data when returning from a ride.
The C606 Pro can pair with any ANT+ or Bluetooth-enabled device, meaning it will fit seamlessly into your training ecosystem, but it can also unlock new features that will enable you to take your performance to the next level.
When used indoors and paired with a turbo trainer or smart bike, the C606 Pro elevates the whole experience.
A clever feature enables you to recreate any outdoor route, so you can relive your real-world exploits and feel the simulated changes in gradient from the comfort of your own home. It also supports dual power sources, meaning you can switch seamlessly between smart trainer and power meter data with the tap of a button.
Outside, it is a great tool for climbs, providing the remaining distance, elevation gain and grade profile of an ascent, even if you don’t join it at its base, while it brings Strava segments to life, providing alerts when you’re approaching a saved segment and real-time information as you chase a KOM.
Intelligent features

Cycling has never been more connected and the C606 Pro has a range of features made for the growing number of accessories and types of assistance that riders take on every ride.
One of its most fun functions is its ability to control a paired action camera, opening up one-tap shooting on the bike computer or Shimano Di2 electronic shifter, keeping you firmly in control of the handlebar and content creation.
Compatible with select DJI and Insta360 models, it also automatically adds ride-data overlay to any footage – saving you time and effort in the edit.
Elsewhere, the Smart Riding Assistant can link to radar lights and heart rate monitors, and unlock a suite of custom controls on Shimano Di2 shifters that enable you to cycle through screens on the head unit or turn off bike lights.
WorldTour credentials

All of these features alone would make the C606 Pro a standout selection, but Magene’s top-end bike computer also comes with the backing of UCI WorldTour team XDS Astana Team.
The Chinese brand has become the team’s official partner for GPS bike computers, smart trainers, radar tail lights and heart rate monitors from the 2026 season, adding professional-grade credentials to its suite of training devices including the T500 Smart Trainer, H613 Heart Rate Monitor and L508 Radar Tail Light.
This means the C606 Pro will be used by the likes of 2026 Tour of Oman winner Christian Scaroni, outstanding climber Lorenzo Fortunato and other riders for all training and racing. If it’s good enough to survive the intense demands of the pinnacle of road cycling, it will be able to handle anything you can throw at it.
