A post bike and some hard graft for charity helped secure Mike Speake's place as the first nominee for our MBUK Spirit Awards, have you got what it takes to join him?!

Mike rode the 25km mini-marathon at Bulith Wells on his 33kg post bike in an impressive one and a half hours to raise money for the Air Ambulance. The minute we spotted him we new immediately that he was our first nominee to be in with a chance of winning a top secret prize and a days riding with us lot.

This weekend the Merida Marathon Series hits Crickhowell and our spotters will be out in force to recognise the great and good of British mountain biking. Whether it's helping charity like Mike, mending other people's mechanicals or simply being the craziest person there, we're celebrating all that's great and good about British mountain biking!

You can take part in the MBUK Spirit Awards at the rest of this years Merida Marathon's, the Kona Bristol Bike Fest and the Kona Mash-Up.

Oh yeah, and whilst we're here; do you twitter?! Well, from now on we do. Check out the latest banter/craic/inane bike chat from the office and world of MBUK on Twitter as of... wait for it... NOW!
