Tour de France 2020 route, bikes and tech

The Tour de France is an annual multiple-stage race held primarily in France every summer, occasionally venturing into surrounding countries.

It comprises 21 stages that take place over 23 days, which consist of flat, hilly, mountainous terrain, as well as individual- and team- time trial races.

When does the 2020 Tour de France start?

The 2020 edition of the Tour de France was due to start in Nice on the 27th of June 2020.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the race has been postponed and is now scheduled to run from the 29th of August to the 20th of September 2020.

The route remains unchanged and the weary peloton will roll into Paris after 3,470 km of racing.

In the meantime, the Virtual Tour de France is taking place on Zwift. Riders will race six stages between the 4th and 19th of July.
