In Bike of the Year 2014, value was a key consideration and all bikes had to be priced between £1,500 and £2,000. It was no surprise, then, that it was Boardman, who have a canny knack of speccing their bikes extremely competitively, that walked away with the Bike of the Year 2014 award for best value. The carbon frame and fork was equipped with a full Shimano Ultegra groupset – and that included wheels too. The only thing our testers felt like changing were the aluminium bars.
