Flextail’s new mini pump has landed at BikeRadar, and it has a useful safety feature that its rival electric pumps don't offer.
The Tiny Tire Pump ACS is not only a digital-gauge pump powerful enough to inflate tyres to 120psi, it also comes with a seatpost mounting bracket and an integrated LED rear light.
So rather than heading out without your electric mini pump because it won't fit in your jersey pocket, the Tiny Tire Pump ACS simply straps to your seatpost, solving one of the main issues with existing mini pumps.
The light offers three modes: always on, flash and flow, with run times of six hours, 12.5 hours and seven hours, respectively.
Flextail claims the 500mAh battery is good for four hours of lighting time and two full tyre inflations to 100psi.
It says the high-density battery has two advantages over its rivals. The first is in charge retention, with a less than 5% per cent drop if left for a month.
Flextail also claims the battery life is longer, with less than 10% decay after 800 charge and discharge cycles.
The charge time is claimed to be 35 minutes using a USB-C power source.
Cooler and longer-lasting
Flextail has also designed the ACS with an active cooling system, which it claims reduces heat build-up by 5ºC compared to its previous design. This should improve the lifespan of the pump by more than double, according to Flextail.
The integrated digital gauge also works as a pressure checker. The Tiny Tire Pump ACS comes supplied with a USB to USB-C charge cable, both Presta and Schrader inserts, plus a hose for TPU inner tubes and a needle (ball) insert.
It comes with a two-year warranty and is priced at £76 / $99.99 / €69.95, which looks to be great value for an electric pump – even more so when you factor in a useful rear light, too.
