A: Gear hangers are generally specific to a bike or brand, or at least a family of frames from a manufacturer. The best bet is to contact the shop or the distributor quoting the model name and year of the bike. It's certainly worth having a spare in your bag just in case you knock your rear mech and damage or snap the original hanger.
