Stashed Products, manufacturer of the excellent SpaceRail bike-storage system, has extended its space-saving modular approach to kit and accessories with the new LodeStar range.
These neat systems are designed for stowing everything from tools and wheels to complete riding outfits or indoor-cycling setups.
Obviously, you could just screw hooks into the wall to hang your gear from, but the beauty of Stashed’s solution is that it’s almost infinitely reconfigurable.

Once you’ve installed the base (more on that in a moment), you can select from the Welsh brand’s extensive array of accessories, and add, remove and reposition them to your heart’s content.
There are two bases to choose from – the Rail and the Board. The former is essentially a scaled-down version of Stashed’s extruded-aluminium bike rail, measuring 950mm long.
It can be mounted on a wall, ceiling or even the floor, horizontally or vertically, and more rails can be added as required, either bracketed to the end or attached at 90 degrees. Accessories can then be slotted in and slid around, with only one bolt to tighten.

Space saver

The Board is a rectangular alternative, designed to fit in a smaller space and measuring 400x300mm. Here, accessories bolt into one of the myriad slots cut into its laser-cut steel surface.
Said accessories range from all-purpose hooks to shoe hangers, sunglasses stands, water-bottle holders, trays, clothes rails and more.
We can see this system appealing to flat/apartment-dwellers with limited space. Got a turbo trainer setup in a spare room? Mount a single rail and you can attach your shoes and bottle, ready for a session, along with a tray to hold your tablet and a hook to hang your bike’s rear wheel from. Add a clothes hanger and you can leave your jersey and shorts there, too.
Is there a child cyclist in the family? Now they’ve got somewhere of their own to put their helmet, glasses and shoes, instead of dumping them on the floor as soon as they get in. And as they grow – and so does their gear – you can move the hooks higher up the rail, or add a second one on top.
Transform your wall into a canvas

Stashed reckons the LodeStar system will “transform your walls into a canvas”. We’re not sure non-cyclists would agree, but it’s certainly smarter-looking than other storage systems.
Prices start from £39.99 for a single rail and £79.99 for a board, with accessories from £17.99. Stashed also offer bundles – for example, a ‘Starter Cycling Set – Rail’ consisting of a single rail plus ‘multihook’, sunglasses holder, shoe hooks and accessory tray, along with all required fixings and fastenings, for £174.99.
The price is high, but it’s all well-finished, 100% made in Wales, nicely packaged and comes with a five-year warranty.
