The Redshift ShockStop seatpost will smooth out your rear

Adjustable suspension for almost any bike

Redshift's new ShockStop seatpost lets you add a bit of rear suspension to pretty much any bike. Joining a range of components that already includes the ShockStop stem, the new post uses a four-bar linkage and a coil spring to provide 35mm of travel.

Unlike some squishy seatposts, the ShockStop keeps saddle angle constant throughout its travel. Three spring weights are available to fine-tune performance and pre-load is adjustable too.

The post weighs a claimed 497g and comes in 27.2mm only, but shims for bigger seat tubes are on the way.

Retail price is expected to be $199 (pricing in other territories is to be confirmed) but you can still snag one at a hefty discount via Redshift's Kickstarter campaign, which has smashed through its fundraising goal.

You'll need to be quick about it however, the campaign ends tomorrow (Friday 11 May at 11.59pm EDT, or 4.59am on Saturday in the UK) and the seatpost is expected to ship in November.

Watch our video to hear Redshift's Stephen Ahnert talk through the new seatpost's features, and for a quick rundown on the ShockStop stem.
