BikeRadar Bargains: 4 of the best GoPro deals — UK only

Discounted diminutive cameras

With the launch of the GoPro Hero 7 last week, we thought we'd find you some deals on a few of the older models. The previous generations are still supremely capable and will let you capture great footage — you'll just be left with a bit of cash to spare.

We have the previous generation flagship model the GoPro Hero 6 Black, two refurbished models in the form of the venerable Hero 5 and Session, along with a GoPro alternative in the form of the Garmin ViRB Ultra 30. Read on to find the right one for you.

GoPro Hero 6 Black — £500 £345

The GoPro Hero 6 is the top-end model of yesteryear with 12MP resolution still images, video quality up to 4K at 60fps and 1080p at 240fps, three-axis software stabilisation… and more besides.

Yes, the new Hero 7 will add a few extra features, but do you really need them to get those spectacular edits?

GoPro Hero 5 (refurbished) — £219.99

When it came out we were very impressed by the performance of this little camera. Even though it's now two generations old, it's still a great bit of kit.

Even better, you can pick up a refurbished model and save a decent chunk of cash.

GoPro Hero Session (refurbished)  — £99.99

If you're after a super small camera and don't mind losing out on some of the manual controls of the higher end models, this is the camera for you.

The image stabilisation isn't quite as refined as its full-sized sibling, and performance suffers in the cold, but the image quality is up there with the very, very best.

Garmin VirRB Ultra 30 — £389.99 £296

GoPro isn't the only company making action cams out there, and the Garmin ViRB had outstanding image quality when we tested it.

It is a little long in the tooth now, but that means that it's available at a more than reasonable price.
