More affordable, more colors, more metal, here's Trek's 2019 Slash line-up

Aluminum enduro race bike joins more affordable carbon offerings

For 2019, Trek has added a lower-priced, aluminum Slash 8 to the previously carbon-only Slash range. Additionally, the carbon Slash's pricing has been lowered. All of the 29er enduro race bikes are available in a second colorway — one that screams you're either very fast or you're here for the party.

With the new alloy Slash 8, Trek is aiming to bring its enduro race bike to a wider range of riders.

Trek delivers more Formula 1 suspension technology

Like all Slashes, it comes with Trek's standard technology of Straight Shot down tube, ABP rear suspension, and ReAktiv rear shock with Thru-Shaft.

RockShox is in charge of the suspension with a Yari RC fork and Deluxe RT3 shock. 12-speeds from SRAM's GX Eagle complete the shifting and alloy Bontrager Line Comp 30 wheels are wrapped with Bonty XR4 2.4in tires.

The Slash 8 retails at $3,499.99 / AU$ 4,499 and is available now. Want to build your own? The frameset retails for $1,999.99 and is available now as well.

UK and Australian pricing TBD.

Starting the carbon framed Slashes is the 9.7.

Up front is a RockShox Yari RC with a 51mm offset, a RockShox Deluxe RT3 handles the rear, and a 12-speed SRAM NX Eagle drivetrain is on-board for the go.

Right in the middle of the carbon bikes sits the Slash 9.8.

Front suspension is bumped up to a Fox 36 Performance fork, while the rear shares the same Deluxe RT3 shock as the 9.7. SRAM's GX Eagle provides the ratios and Bontrager Line Carbon 30 wheels are spec'd.

Holding down the top spot is the Slash 9.9 Race Shop Limited. Trek claims these are the same bikes as used by the Trek Factory Racing Enduro team.

Fox takes care of the front end with a 36 Factory fork, RockShox's Deluxe RT3 damps the rear, and carbon Bonty Line 30 wheels are on rolling duty. The drivetrain is SRAM's 12-speed X01 Eagle.

Want a factory ride? Trek has lowered the retail price by $800 to a still wallet-abusing $7,199.99.  A frameset will set you back £3,200 / $3,699.99. Available now.
