The Abus Powerdome is a new budget aero helmet that was released quietly during Eurobike 2022 and is now available to purchase.

The road bike helmet features tech originally seen on the brand’s top-flight GameChanger aero helmet, including the lightweight fixed FlowStraps and Zoom Ace cradle system, at a lower price.

Priced at £129.99 for the MIPS version or £109.99 for the non-MIPS helmet (international pricing TBC), the Powerdome is available in three sizes and four colour options.

The helmet has a more traditional look than the GameChanger, with 17 vents and what Abus claims to be an aerodynamic profile.

The helmet features Abus’ Forced Air Cooling Technology.

Abus says this “uses the Venturi effect” to force air from the front to rear vents, improving airflow.

The helmet is manufactured in Italy and uses an in-mould construction.

In-mould construction bonds the outer shell to the EPS body of the helmet, improving durability.

The helmet is available in a handsome sparkly bronze, ruby red, pearlescent blue and grey.
