The Magicshine SeeMee 300 is one of the most powerful rear bike lights on the market – and, right now, it’s available with a sizable discount in both the UK and US.
In our review, we described the SeeMee 300 as a force to be reckoned with, praising its punchy output, clever smart modes and useful downward-facing beam.
It’s not without minor faults: we found the brake light to be a little over-sensitive and the battery life unpredictable.
But in real-world use, those compromises are easily forgiven with a healthy discount such as this.
Now reduced from £59.99 to £35.19 on Amazon UK, it’s an excellent time to pick up a new bike light ahead of the darker seasons (sorry to remind you, mid-summer, that winter is a thing).
The deal is similarly good in the US, with a 34 per cent saving, bringing the price down to $39.59.

Blinding output, smart modes and a standout downlight

The SeeMee 300 uses two high-output LEDs and a ring of smaller lights to deliver an almost antisocial 300-lumen output – that is seriously bright.
The light’s downward-facing light illuminates the road and rear wheel in a cosseting pool of red glow. In testing, we found this helped increase visibility.
The light’s modes include:
- Static low (20 lumens)
- Static high (100 lumens)
- Flash (100 lumens)
- Eco pulsing (20 lumens)
- Smart pulsing mode (300 lumens in daylight, 100 lumens at night)
A motion-sensitive brake light uses accelerometers and vibration sensors to detect deceleration and boost the light to 300 lumens.
This worked well in testing during braking, but could be triggered by rough road surfaces, affecting battery performance.
On that, Magicshine claims a 200-hour battery life in eco mode (daytime), and a full charge via USB-C takes around two hours.
However, we found the brake function had a significant effect on runtime, and overall burn times fell short of the brand’s claims unless the brake mode was disabled.
Still, unless you're Oscar Huckle and make a regular habit of riding 1,000km at a time, the light’s battery life shouldn’t trouble you.
Easy to mount, hard to ignore

The light comes with both a seatpost click-mount and a saddle rail hanger, both of which our tester found easy to use and held the unit securely in place.
The compact alloy body and straightforward interface help round off an impressive package.
Ultimately, the Magicshine SeeMee 300 impressed us with its range of features, high visibility and solid build quality. It wasn’t the highest scorer, at 3.5 stars but, at this price, it’s a compelling buy – and likely the option I’d be looking at if I were in the market for a rear light.

Is this a deal worth jumping on?
As ever, it’s worth questioning whether an Amazon Prime Day deal is all it’s hyped up to be, or just that – hype.
According to the price-tracking website, Camel Camel Camel, the SeeMee 300 has been available for an average price of £47 over the last three months.
It very briefly dipped as low as £37, and has been available for slightly lower than today's sales price on the run-up to Prime Day.
As such, it may be worth holding out for a lower price, though that seems unlikely to happen in the near term, given that demand for lights will only increase as the summer rolls on.
Given this, I would suggest today is as safe a bet as any to get the light for a decent price. And at less than £40, it’s not a huge gamble either way.
