The Boardman Junior Road Sport/e bike (£349.99, show above) comprises a butted alloy frame on 700c wheels with Kenda 23c tyres. A 2x7 Shimano Claris/Tourney drivetrain gives you the ideal gear setup for defeating hills, racking up the miles and descending at speed.
The Boardman Junior Hybrid Sport/e (£299.99), meanwhile, uses a butted alloy frame on 26in wheels, but with a triple chainset on a seven-speed Shimano Tourney drivechain for shooting to school or comfort on longer family rides.
