We’ve seen great leaps in bike tech over the years that have greatly improved our road bikes: frame materials, compact geometry, electronic groupsets and disc brakes to name a few. But where will things go next and is there another round of improvements still to come? Or have we, as we suspect, reached ‘peak bike’?

We've been chatting in the BikeRadar Podcast studio about what's changed over the years and whether we are going to see any step-changes in road bike tech.

We reckon there are a few areas yet to be exploited, but the bulk is likely to have already been sorted – at least until the UCI shakes the rule book up.
