Cycling Plus magazine have partnered with Halfords and Boardman Bikes to determine the best road bike ride in Britain.
An original list of routes was compiled by Cycling Plus readers, with rides from all over the country considered. Each ride was then scored on everything from scenery to the satisfaction and challenge on offer. Eventually, all the contenders were whittled down to the following five finalists:
- Broughton Wheelers Lakes Loops – Lake District, Cumbria
- Yorkshire Dales – Yorkshire
- Barnstable – North Devon
- Elan Valley – Mid Wales
- Applecross – North Scotland
Each of the above rides were then ridden by the magazine’s editorial team, led by Editor Rob Spedding. Every ride was filmed and can be viewed from the links above.
These rides are now subject to a public vote, choose your favourite here and be in with a chance to win a £50 Halfords voucher. Voting closes 12 November.
