The British Heart Foundation have signed up as the official charity partners for BikeRadar Live 2010, which takes place on the weekend of 10-11 July at Brands Hatch in Kent.
Riders taking part in the 100km and 100-mile sportives will be encouraged to raise money for the BHF, and the charity will also be sponsoring the British Heart Foundation Indy Track Rides.
These will give cyclists of all abilities a unique chance to ride around the famous race circuit. You'll be able to take on as many laps as you choose of the 1.9km course and join hundreds of other cyclists for up to two hours as you enjoy the bends, twists and turns which are normally only experienced by racing drivers.
Adam Brockett, event organiser for charity, said: “Cycling is great fun, and a fantastic way of getting fit and keeping your heart healthy, so we’re really excited to be working with Future [BikeRadar's publishers] to promote both cycling and the health benefits of it, and we hope that the cycling industry will get behind this partnership.”
Pete Stothard, publishing director for Future’s sports portfolio, said: "We both want to encourage as many people as possible to get on a bike, do some exercise, raise money for a great cause and have some fun. It’s great that the BHF have chosen to work with us on this initiative at Bike Radar Live.”
All entry money from the British Heart Foundation Indy Track Rides will go directly to the charity. To find out more, visit the BHF Track Ride page on the BikeRadar Live website.
